In the latest episode of the Empowerography Podcast, my guest is Jackie Minsky. Jackie Minsky, single mom, publicist, branding+marking strategist didn’t always have an entrepreneurial mind. Growing up, to immigrant parents with old school values, getting married was the vision others wanted for her. At the age of 26 Jackie got married and at 27 welcomed her son Jaiden into the world. A year after her son was born, Jackie was abandoned by her then husband and sons father.  Who had a double life and gambling addiction. Jackie was left alone with $0 and a baby to care for. Eight months after that, to add to the stress of everything, Jackie’s mother suddenly passed away due to a heart attack. Jackie had lost all hope. Was angry at the world and had to reinvent and align with purpose. She decided the simplest way to start Was to begin a podcast. Stupid Wise Girl, the show was born. Emily Zaunbrecher S01 EPS 272

In the latest episode of the Empowerography Podcast, my guest is Emily Zaunbrecher. I was born in Baton Rouge, LA. I “grew up” in several places, because my dad was a college football coach. Always a Cajun girl at heart, though. I got my first college degree from the University of Florida in Visual Arts and worked as a photographer for a little while. I later decided I wanted to return to school for nursing. I worked for 7 years in a Neuro/Trauma ICU. That was wild… honestly, I feel like it’s some of the toughest (/most rewarding) work out there, but I feel like it prepared me for ANYTHING. I once thought that nursing would be a lifetime career, and I will continue to maintain my license, but it became apparent after some time (in my soul, I think it was always apparent) that I was just not meant to work within “the system” forever. I started to learn yoga and then completed my yoga teacher training. I could then see the path to another way. As I was trying to figure out how to transition out of the hospital, I also became certified in a bodywork modality called Fascial Stretch Therapy and started on my fascia education. Eventually, circumstances aligned for me to be able to open my own yoga studio that also became sort of a private practice space for my expanding skill set. The space is called The Studieaux, calling back to my Louisiana roots. In this episode we discuss nursing, yoga, fasical stretch therapy, weightlifting, learning to let go and self-worth.

In the latest episode of the Empowerography Podcast, my guest is Kathleen Sheppard. I am a Gratitude and Abundance coach. When my marriage of almost 37 years ended in May, 2017, I was gobsmacked. I didn’t know which end was up. I was in the middle of recovering from two whiplash concussions one month apart at the time. I was training for Ironman Arizona that fall. Six weeks after my ex left, my Mom passed away unexpectedly. I was lost, so very lost. I really don’t remember much of 2017.  In this episode we discuss neuropsychology, connection, personal struggle/loss, parenting, coping skills and mindset shift. Today, my gratitude list is very very long. I see abundance in the wind, the sky, the rain, fresh peas from the garden, laughing. So much to love about my life. I found this abundance last November. It came to me one day when I was out running. I realized that I was going to be OK. I am OK on my own. I know that I can figure most anything out and I do. Now, I teach other women how to find themselves after a huge transition in their lives. It is truly my honour to show these women how to get their voices back. I love to see a woman emerge from the chrysalis of her former life as a beautiful multi-coloured multi-faceted butterfly. I grin right along with her as each new pretty colour reveals itself on her wings.
