In the latest episode of the Empowerography Podcast, my guest is Rachel Matz. Rachel is co-owner of 4th and Market with her husband Dakota, which is a fitness, yoga and wellness building in the heart of their hometown of Zanesville, Ohio.  She’s an RYT 500 hour instructor and completed her training over a two year period with Awakened Life School of Yoga, traveling to Bali twice and Costa Rica from 2014-2016. She’s trained in Active and Slow Flow Vinyasa, Restorative yoga, Yoga Nidra and Shamata meditation. Her yoga teaching often mixes components of spirituality and yoga philosophy with physically challenging and structurally intelligent flows. And you can always count on an invigorating array of music to flow with! She believes that yoga begins on the mat, and eventually, with consistency and practice, carries into every aspect of life. The deeper the connections and ties between the body, the mind and the heart, the more passionate, peaceful and purpose-driven life. When quarantine hit last year I finally got serious about writing a book, which became about a year-long process. The book was published just a couple weeks ago on Amazon and is titled "I Am Worthy: Remembrance & Reclamation. It's my life's story of body shame and spiritual shame, re-writing new stories and creating new subconscious programs of enough-ness and worthiness, love and marriage, the yoga journey, and then closes with how I got to a place where I truly believe and feel that I am worthy. I also discuss how that's led me to a place of sexual liberation as a woman. In this episode we discuss the embodied goddess, yoga and the different modalities, body shame, religion, religious beliefs and conditioning and body acceptance.
