Amanda Kostura is a Licensed Independent Social Worker Supervisor with over 13 years of experience in both direct practice and administrative positions in non-profits and social service agencies. Amanda noticed there were missing elements of compassion, humanity, and healing the root causes of mental health conditions in previous positions. These professional experiences, her own personal challenges, and research on trauma and the stress-disease connection led her to found Carve Your Own Path, Inc., a 501(c)3 non-profit organization. Carve Your Own Path offers an evidence-based, trauma-informed, inclusive, community approach to mental health and well-being through holistic wellness services, education, and consultation services. In this episode we discuss burnout, authenticity, mental health, social work and community.
